Cahaya Ramadhani was one of the five master students that attended the master module “Political Economy of the Welfare State” at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s School of Built Environment and Development studies (SOBEDS) in Durban, South Africa. Below is her summary of her experience, as well as some of her photos from the trip.
“I am glad that I was a part of this Summer (Winter) School in UKZN. The friendly and warm atmosphere has made my learning fun and exciting. The lectures are intense and the professors are highly knowledgeable, not to mention the passionate classmates that come from different academic backgrounds. All of these things ignited a lot of interesting discussions inside and outside the class. I left with plenty of knowledge, a good insight into South Africa’s social system and cultures, and so many friends!”
